Successful college night at BSW
Tuesday, September 01, 2009
A group of over fifty parents and students from Years 11 to 13 attended a College Night on Monday, August 31 where two presentations were given. Simon A Bird, College Counsellor & School Liaison, gave an introductory overview of the UK university admission system through UCAS while Georgia Fox of College Counselling International gave an overview of the American system of entry to colleges and universities.
It is hoped that this will be an annual event at this time, preparing the road for the upcoming College entry season.
This is just one of the many events that take place at the school to assist students in gaining entry to their top college of choice. Later in the term, speakers from Emory College and American University will be visiting as well as speakers from St Andrew's, Scotland, Kings College, London and University College, London.
Last year all students successfully obtained places at a variety of top colleges and universities, including the first Oxbridge candidate - Lauri Saksa to St Hugh's College Oxford to read Archaeology and Anthropology.
