Admissions

The British Schools of America attract pupils from both the local and international communities in each of our five cities.

Registration & Enrollment Procedure

Our admission procedure is as follows:

  1. Tour - The first step is to contact our admissions office to arrange an appointment to tour the school. We ask that, where possible, your children do not accompany you on your initial tour.
  2. Registration - To register your interest in choosing the one of the British Schools of America, please send us the following to the appropriate school (Please refer to the admissions page of each school for their forms):
    • Completed Registration Form
    • $150 non-refundable registration fee
    • Recent photograph
    • Applicant Statement
    • Evaluation form(s) (to be sent directly from the current school)
    • Most recent school report / report card (where appropriate) (to be sent directly from the current school)
Your application will be processed when the admissions office receives your completed registration form, accompanying paperwork and registration fee.
  3. Visit - After registration, prospective pupils are invited to visit the school for a short visit. They will join their age appropriate class for a half or full day, depending on their age. Often it is not possible for a child re-locating from abroad to visit the school. In these circumstances the child may be offered a place on the basis of the school reports alone. As with all final admissions decisions, this is entirely at the discretion of the Head.
  4. Enrollment - When your child is offered a place at one of the British Schools of America you will be required to pay a $1000 deposit and to sign the school agreement to hold the place. In signing the school agreement you acknowledge your commitment to paying the full tuition for the first academic year and the development levy when due, even in the unlikely event that your circumstances change and your child does not attend the school. Once a child has been in school for one academic year, the deposit is refundable on leaving, as long as we receive a full term's notice of leaving in writing. For example, if a child will not be returning to school for the autumn term, notice must be received before the beginning of the summer term.

Notice of Non-Discrimination Policy

The British Schools of America reaffirms its policy to admit pupils on a non-discriminatory basis, without regard to race, colour, sex, religion, or national origin.
