Inspection/Accreditation
International Baccalaureate Accreditation
The British School of Houston is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the IB Diploma Programme. BSH was the second of the British Schools of America to gain IB Accreditation.
The year-long accreditation process includes presentation of detailed plans and evidence of preparation and equipment to offer the IB Diploma Programme successfully followed by an authorisation visit, intended to ensure that the candidate school is genuinely committed to the pursuit of excellence in international education. The IBO visiting team also ascertains the school’s preparedness to offer the programme and verifies that the school’s planning has been both systematic and comprehensive.

Learning Ispections

The British School of Houston had a review at the end of its first year of operation and a full OFSTED-style inspection in its 5th year, both carried out by Fieldwork International. The main purpose of the reviews is to look at the quality of children's learning and the quality of teaching which contribute to that learning. As an independent school we are not eligible for official OFSTED inspection as carried out in State-run schools in the UK, but we opt to pay for a private inspector to conduct an inspection as if it were in a State School.
Summaries of the reviews are available here.
