Drama
Drama work forms part of the English Curriculum in Key Stages One, Two
and Three as pupils are taught skills of speaking and listening
appropriate to National Curriculum Strand En1. They also learn to
express ideas through the medium of drama and the cooperative nature of
this artistic medium.
In Key Stage Four, Drama is taught as a separate GCSE subject (optional). Pupils are taught how to use Drama techniques to investigate ideas and topics and to use theatre skills (as individuals and in groups) suitable for the realisation of these ideas on stage.
At all Stages, there are numerous opportunities for pupils to perform their drama work, in the classroom, in assemblies and at venues in the city.
