International Leadership and Management Programme (ILMP)

October 8, 2007

Dear colleagues

The International Leadership and Management Program (ILMP) is a school-based practitioner program designed to impact both directly and indirectly on improved student learning in your school. Developed by Fieldwork Education, the European Council of International Schools and the National Association of Head Teachers, ILMP brings a fresh approach to the professional development of all those working in senior positions in international schools.

You will develop your leadership capacity through a blended-learning approach that includes residential, online and experiential learning. You will complete a Personal Leadership Project that will lead to both personal and school improvement. The focus of your project will be an aspect of school improvement already planned to take place.

The program takes place over one year, plus some additional preparation work. You will be supported by an e-tutor with extensive leadership experience specific to your own phase of education.

Described by the development team as ‘a coherent one-year program based on your needs and your school's needs', ILMP gives you an opportunity to experience a unique, high-quality, relevant learning experience.

This is an opportunity for five senior BSA leaders to join the fourth cohort of the programme. We already have other participants signed up from international schools in Qatar, The Netherlands, U.S., Brazil and Kenya. Our plan is to have two groups of about 15 ILMP participants for this coming year - therefore BSA colleagues will have the opportunity to network and discuss leadership and learning with many other international colleagues.

Please complete the attached application form and return along with a short letter detailing reasons for your application.
