French, Spanish and German B
The aim of the French, Spanish and German B course
is to provide a framework for the acquisition of the language and the
development of different skills with adequate preparation in oral and written
expression and in analytical and critical thought. This will be achieved with resources and
themes reinforcing Internationalism.
Students require prior experience of studying French, German or Spanish to study this course and will be offered Standard or Higher Level, depending on their level of competency.
The four fundamental linguistic skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing will be taught and developed through a range of authentic materials.
Teaching and general classroom interaction will be in French, Spanish or German, in order to provide maximum exposure to the target language. Outside school, the students will be encouraged to read in their chosen language for pleasure, to watch programmes on TV, use relevant websites, to go to see movies and interact with native speakers as much as possible.
