The course offers the opportunity to develop skills in a wide range of sports and activities and helps the student to develop his or her own performance. Students learn about exercise and then, through training, how performance can be improved. The course is practically based and involves participating in a range of practical activities, as well as developing the knowledge to improve the student's own ability in these activities. For students who enjoy sport this will therefore be a very enjoyable course.

Assessment:

There is one examination at the end of the course. This lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes and involves short questions which enable you to apply your understanding of the factors affecting participation. The examination accounts for 40% of the final mark.

Coursework: (60%) Throughout the course you will be learning and developing new skills and activities through a range of different activities. You will need to offer four activities for assessment and in the final assessment you will need to analyse performance in one of four chosen practical activities.
