The program run by the Country Club in Brookline had ten teams from Winsor School, Dexter/Southfield School, and the British School competing in a winter league. As a result of their fantastic performances over the season, the students are pictured below holding "The Country Club Cup" which now proudly sits in the cabinet inside the main entrance to the school.
U8 INDOOR FOOTBALL ARE RUNNERS UP AT NEWTON (April 2008)
The BSB U8 team found the start of the season difficult, having many players who had never played competitive football (soccer) and with a team that had never practised together. After about the 5th week, the team were really starting to play well and finally got their first win under the leadership of Mr. Bennett. A draw and couple more wins followed. The BSB team were close to making the play-offs!
On Monday the 31st of March the Under 8 team needed to win their final league game to qualify in the last spot for the play-offs. They were now playing with such confidence they did this with ease. Monday 7th April was play-off night, finishing in last sport meant BSB had to play (and win) three times to lift the trophy. Most, including the other teams had probably seen BSB as an easy match. Game 1 came and BSB dominated winning easily. Game 2 was going to be a harder test as they were playing the 1st placed team who were undefeated all year. BSB had played this team at the start of the season and came in second place by a distance. The result was remarkable, the BSB team WON 7-3! The team were on a roll and it looked like no one could stop them. Unfortunately tired legs showed in the final and BSB could not quite produce the performance they had in the semi final and had to settle for runners up.
Well done to all involved! BSB are proud of what you achieved!

MIDDLE SCHOOL CO-ED SWIMMING, BSB OUTPERFORMS DEXTER/SOUTHFIELDS SCHOOL (Jan 2008)

In the boys first ever middle school swim meet and only the girls second meet, it would have been easy to have expected the BSB team to come in 2nd best against an experienced Dexter/Southfields team. Both BSB teams were quietly confident, but no one expected a performance and winning margin by quite this much. There were many fantastic individual performances. Emma, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Harry, Christopher, Minas, Spencer, and Michael each won individual events. However, the team's win was much more than just individual performances. The entire team had fantastic spirit, supporting all team members, many of which were swimming against students 4 or 5 years older. Congratulations to the whole team, the BSB community is extremely proud of you. Next up Thayer Academy.
